Our annual Christmas Party in the Justice Center is back. In the past few years during Covid, we were able to provide gift bags, but we were not allowed in to sing carols and give our gifts directly to the people in the jail. This year we can once again go into the facility to celebrate the holidays!
There are many ways to participate and help out:
Monday, Dec 19 6pm We will pack the gift bags! If you are interested in helping, please email JailMinistry@gmail.com, or call us, M-Th 9-noon at 315.960.4528. All are welcome. This will happen in a non-secure part of the jail, meaning there is no need for any special pre-approval or security clearance. We are looking for 30 volunteers.
Monday, Dec 19 7pm After packing the gift bags, we plan to have a Christmas party for all members and friends of the Jail Ministry Community. All are welcome, whether or not you were able to help pack the gift bags. Let us know in advance by email or phone so we can plan. We are hoping for a great turnout to celebrate this special time of year!
Tuesday, Dec 20 6pm We will go to the jail at 6pm to sing carols and bring our gift bags to the people held inside. Because you will be going into the secure part of the facility, you will need prior approval. Contact us and let us know you would like to participate. Space is limited (we are looking for 50 volunteers), but all are welcome. This is a great opportunity to experience the joy of Christmas with the incarcerated.
Donations Needed! If you, your church, school, business, or organization would like to give, we need the following items:
Postage stamps
Scrabble games
Scrabble dictionaries
White socks
Gift cards (for cookie purchases)
Racquetballs
